Simply Stylist Fashion & Beauty Conference

Hope everyone is having a great Monday! I didn’t mean to take the summer off with the blog but somehow that happened. Even if the blog took a break, Ritual Beauty didn’t. I’ve been busy this summer and I hope you will stay tuned to some big news to be announced later this month.

I wanted to share a quick post from Simply Stylist. They held their Fashion & Beauty Conference last month in Chicago and Ritual Beauty was proud to sponsor their amazing event. Hosted by Catt Sadler of E! News, this conference brought together women looking to break into the fashion and beauty world with seasoned industry veterans. The day included a networking brunch, a panel discussion, and breakout sessions with a little shopping and pampering mixed in.

Upcoming Fall Beauty and Fashion Shows

Well, life has been moving at a million miles an hour.  And because of the craziness I have not been blogging as much as I hoped. What kind of craziness you ask? We are moving and the last time we moved was before we had kids. So, moving with two more people in tow has taken the mayhem to a new level.  But I did want to take a few minutes to let you know about some fun beauty and fashion events happening over the next week.

Sip on cocktails while checking out the latest Fall fashions. Girls Night Out

This past week, Ritual Beauty participated in the Shecky’s Girls Night Out in Atlanta. The cocktails were flowing, music pumping and a great energy in the air as everyone flowed from ballroom to ballroom checking out all the great vendors. My sister-in-law, Cassi, worked the table with me and we had so much fun meeting many wonderful women. After the event, we raffled off a pink Clarisonic Mia (congratulations, Annie!).

In talking to the attendees about their skin care concerns, I found a repeating theme. Many of you are looking for an eye product. Dark circles, puffiness and crows feet are major concerns and unfortunately, it seems like most of us see the first signs of aging around the eyes. You will be happy to know that we are in the preliminary stages of developing an eye product. So stay tuned to the blog and our Facebook page for product updates.

We want to hear from you! Do you know of an event in the Atlanta area that you think Ritual Beauty should be a part of? What is your number one skin problem?

Southern Style Fashion Week

This past weekend, I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the 7th Annual Charleston Fashion Week.  In addition to attending the shows, I was thrilled that Ritual Beauty was able to be a sponsor of the model gift bag.  Approximately 200 models arrived in Charleston early last week to walk the runway for 25 designers from all over the country.  After all, nothing quite goes better together than fashion and beauty.  And there was no shortage of either during the event.

The event began last Tuesday but I didn’t arrive until Thursday.  Each night, 5 emerging designers showcased a sampling of their designs.  At the end of the night, a People’s Choice winner was announced as well as a finalist chosen by a panel of fashion experts to move onto the finale show.  Saturday night concluded with all the finalists showcasing their entire collection and the grand prize winner being chosen.  Afriyie Poku from Atlanta was announced as the winner of the Emerging Designer Competition as well as the People’s Choice vote for his spectacular menswear collection.

In addition to the emerging designers, there was a featured designer every night.  Hannah Goff, neve/hawk, Anne Barge, Antonio Azzuolo, Libertine and Christian Siriano all showcased their fabulous collections.

On Friday night, there was Rock the Runway, a competition for up and coming models.  It really was exciting to see young designers and models knowing that one day, they may grace the pages of Vogue.

It was truly an amazing experience to be a part of, both as a spectator and a participant, and I’m already looking forward to next year!
